This is my last day of being gravely sinful. Tomorrow is another day... no, tomorrow is another year! It's high time to unwrap the bandage around our hearts. Feel the sweet light piercing through you now. To all the people I've loved and hated, may 2010 bring us together again in brighter and more exciting--not necessarily happy--encounters. Happy new year!
To ten million fireflies
I'm weird 'cause I hate goodbyes
I got misty eyes as they said farewell

Hunting season
by Ewong Martines
gently, my fingers brushed through the bridge
of your nose, and nimbly we crossed the waters
of unspeakable longing. my hand felt the summer
in your hand, and the jungle of desire tossed about
its canopy and understory and grass, decreeing once
and for all nature’s law in troubled terrain.
when my throat felt the autumn, like strawberries
your lips bloomed, sumptuous and sweet, waiting
to be picked by a sundrenched man with soiled feet, wanting,
like roses, to be adored and smelled and kept in a vase filled
with only the sweetest rainwater. my mouth craved
for the dew of the evergreens, and my tongue probed
into the hibernating depths of the earth. The winter
in my bones melted away, your soft moans assuring me:
tonight, the roots and barks and leaves
shall not taste the bitterness of snow.

Vienna Teng's "Feather Moon"
seven sins
god of stone
all is true
down to the bone
feather moon
scarlet sky
I love you endlessly
not knowing why

Chocolates are not the only cake
by Ewong Martines
from which sugar
can be tasted. citruses are not
the only juice the tongue and throat
recognise. bananas are not
the only fruit that drive monkeys
mad. birds are not
the only creature that hovers upon
deep forest. bees are not
the only insect that romances
a hungry flower. rainbow envies
the butterfly for the latter's beauty
travels far. red is not
the only color of love, for blue
is mine. and my tongue,
filled with ever dark spells, craves
your sweet rhyme.

Switchfoot's "You"
I find peace when I'm confused
I find hope when I'm let down
Not in me...
It's in you.

Jeff Buckley's "Lover, You Should've Come Over"
So I'll wait for you... And I'll burn
Will I ever see your sweet return?
Oh, will I ever learn?

Trading Yesterday's "One Day"
I will stay forever here
until that one day comes,
praying time will bring you near,
I'll wait for your love

Blue October's "18th Floor Balcony"
I raised my hand as if to show you
that I was yours,
that I was so yours for the taking.
I'm still so yours for the taking.
